Information Technology Services has partnered with Duo Security to launch DUO Multifactor Authentication (MFA). This service offers increased security protection measures when accessing Pace’s Virtual Private Network (VPN). MFA, also known as 2-Factor Authentication, adds a second verification step (or 2nd factor) by utilizing a mobile device, such as a cell phone or tablet, to complete authentication on a website or system.

All faculty and staff members were notified by email to enroll in Duo MFA before the deadline September 30th, 2018. If not already enrolled, please refer to the email from Duo Security (no-reply@duosecurity.com) which contains detailed steps to enroll your mobile device, as well as instructions for connecting to the Pace VPN with PaceWeb_2Factor.

WHY IS THIS OCCURRING? Implementing Duo MFA will allow us to better protect your VPN account from potential unauthorized intrusions by adding a 2nd step for verification, which uses a physical device in your possession. This additional step will reduce system access vulnerabilities and help to strengthen our overall security.
