Blackboard Learn tools promote student-to-instructor, student-to-course content, and student-to-student engagement.
For student-to-teacher engagement, track student attendance, create rules in Blackboard’s Retention Center, create an introductory video, communicate with Course Messages, set up a sign-up sheet using a Wiki, hold virtual office hours via Collaborate web conferencing or use one of the many ways to send email.
For student-to-content engagement, embed Youtube videos, other media files and webcam recordings into assignments, embed quiz questions into videos, incorporate NBC-Learn videos, or use adaptive release to guide student progress. Pay attention to the Ally accessibility scores and improve your content so it is accessible to all.
Student-to-student engagement is facilitated by using group assignments, discussion boards, wikis, and peer assessments.
