Welcome back to the fall 2020 semester! This will surely be a semester like no other. The past several months has been challenging for so many of us. Through it all, ITS has continued to work with other University areas to assess current system needs and make the changes and upgrades needed to continue to support the Pace community. Our top concern has been everyone’s health and safety while maintaining a sustainable teaching, working and learning environment.
To that end, we have implemented new temporary physical space and social distancing protocols in our front-facing facilities, in accordance with University guidance, however we have implemented additional computing access and service delivery options, where possible, to ensure their continued availability to the Pace community.
We have brought in new equipment (Zoom Stations) that allows courses to be taught both as in-person and remotely at the same time in the HyFlex format (see www.pace.edu/hyflex). This allows students to attend their class on a rotation basis (in-person or remote), which makes it possible to meet teaching/learning requirements, while maintaining a safer low capacity in the physical classrooms. To support faculty using these Zoom Stations, we have conducted a number of training sessions and will be announcing additional upcoming dates.
We continue to update our working-remotely website (www.pace.edu/working-remotely/) for students, faculty, and staff to ensure that everyone has the timely information and instructions needed to successfully accomplish their objectives.
As a reminder, we are also available via the Help Desk contact channels to assist with individual issues you may be having with any of our Pace systems.
We hope you find this early edition of our newsletter informational and useful. Be well and stay healthy and safe!
Sincerely,
ITS Staff
