The Zoom app for desktop and mobile is now called Zoom Workplace, aligning the app name with Zoom’s extensive product offerings designed to enhance collaboration. Users updating to this version will see the new Zoom Workplace branding in the app.
Key Updates:
- Consolidated Meeting and Calendar Tabs: Enhanced calendar view with meeting details, invitee responses, and shared materials. Review previous meetings and assets like recordings and chats.
- New Color and Visual Themes: New color schemes (Bloom, Agave, Rose) and icons available in light mode.
- Updated Icons and Meeting Visuals: New icons and visual changes to menus and toolbars.
- Personalized In-Meeting Toolbars: Customize the toolbar by dragging and dropping buttons. Default toolbar has fewer buttons, with many options under the More menu.
- Multi-Speaker Video Layout: Dynamically adapts to highlight current speakers while showing others in a smaller gallery view.
- Meeting Wallpapers: Hosts can customize meeting wallpapers with preset images from Zoom or account admins.
Upcoming Zoom Version Update Requirement
To continue using Zoom with the latest features, privacy, and security enhancements, please update your application to version 5.17.5 (or higher) by Saturday, November 2. Zoom requires updates every three months to ensure a seamless and secure experience for all users. Please note: Users who are running an end-of-life version after November 2 will be logged out of their Zoom Client (Desktop, Mobile, and VDI) or will not be able to join meetings via the Zoom Client until they update.
