The Banner 9 upgrade project is underway! As announced in our previous communication, this upgrade is occurring in a phased approach over the course of 2018. In this initial phase, ITS is working with our enterprise resource planning software provider, Ellucian, as well as our main functional areas, to migrate the database from a Windows to a Linux platform and conduct integration testing in the new development environment. End-user testing on the database is expected to be completed by middle of June. In addition, end-user training for Banner 9 is tentatively planned for late summer 2018 and there will be separate communications once dates and locations are finalized. Below are some highlights of new and improved features:
- New user interface and improved navigation and accessibility
- New administrative pages and reports
- Provide a consistent look and feel across Banner
- Enhanced navigation for a seamless experience
- Eliminate Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports
- Eliminate the need for a Java client on your computer
- End dependency on Internet Explorer and allow for full browser support (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, MS Edge)
We will be keeping the University community informed of our progress through our Banner 9 website.
