As the fall semester begins, be cautious of email scams and phishing attempts. Don’t fall for their tricks!

Common Signs of Phishing Scams:

  • Requests for personal information like email, home address, or phone number.
  • Requests for money or gift card purchases.
  • Urgent messages urging you to click a link or open an attachment.

Recent Email Phishing Scams:

  • Fake academic grants and overdue tuition balance notices.
  • Offers to earn extra income by working remotely.
  • Part-time job offers or university job placements.
  • Fictitious employment offers from organizations like UNICEF or the World Health Organization (WHO).
  • Tax return scams.

If you receive a suspicious email, please follow these steps:

  1. Do Not reply, share info, open attachments, or click links.
  2. Report by sending the email as an attachment to iso@pace.edu.
  3. Delete the email from your Inbox and Deleted Items.
