Pace University is adopting new chatbot technology with the goal of increasing enrollment and student success.  The new tool is being named T-Bone, after Pace University’s mascot, and it utilizes an artificial intelligence (AI) knowledge base from AdmitHub (admithub.com). The T-Bone chatbot will allow the university to administer messaging campaigns to students via text and will also respond back to students based on its AI Knowledge Base, which will continue to mature with student interaction.  It will also be able to refer students to staff for direct follow-up and appointments as requested.

Information Technology Services (ITS) is working with AdmitHub’s implementation team, as well as Enrollment Management, Student Success, and other university areas to complete the initial phase of the project by mid-April, which will focus on addressing questions and providing information for admitted students.  Additional phases will be conducted in the near future to address inquiries and information from continuing students as well as to improve the chatbot’s learning algorithm as the underlying knowledge base grows.
