As announced in our April 2021 newsletter, we have transformed all Cisco video conferencing rooms to the Zoom environment. Over the last year and a half, there has been a significant increase in the use of Zoom for web conferences and face-to-face meetings, both individually and in group settings. The Pace community has acclimated so well to using Zoom that we decided to bring that same Zoom meeting functionality and convenience to our meeting spaces (i.e. conference rooms).
Video conference rooms have been reconfigured to connect to Zoom meetings. Therefore, all participants will be able to join scheduled Zoom meetings from any of our campuses or from off-campus, simply by accessing the meeting link provided by the host. Requesters will no longer need to submit a Help Desk ticket to Educational Media to set up the scheduled video conference meeting connection separately.
Please note, all meeting spaces will still need to be reserved through Special Events. Once the space is reserved, staff and faculty can then schedule a Zoom meeting from their own staff/faculty Zoom account and hold their meeting in a Cisco VC meeting space. However, please keep in mind that Zoom allows participants to connect to a meeting from their home, office, or even through the Zoom app on their mobile device. Therefore, it is recommended that you reserve a meeting space only if it’s necessary. For instructions on how to connect your Zoom meeting in Cisco VC space, please review this article: Using Zoom in a Cisco VC Space.
