Zoom implemented a minimum client version which went into effect on November 4, 2023. To ensure that Zoom users receive the latest features as well as privacy and security enhancements added to the video conferencing platform, Zoom requires users to update their application to the new “minimum version” every 3 months. To satisfy the latest minimum requirement and maintain uninterrupted access to your Zoom client, users should have already updated their application to version 5.13.5 or higher. The update will ensure a seamless and secure experience when participating in online meetings, webinars, and virtual collaborations.

Users who do not update their Zoom client will NOT be able to join or start any future Zoom meetings or webinars via the application and will only be able to join via the Zoom web client. For more details about Zoom’s update schedule, you can review the Zoom Software Quarterly Lifecycle Policy.

To ensure that you have the required minimum software version 5.13.5 installed, please follow these simple steps:

Check Your Current Zoom Version:

  1. Open the Zoom application on your computer or mobile device.
  2. Click on your profile picture or initials in the upper right corner.
  3. Select “Check for Updates” from the dropdown menu.
  4. Zoom will automatically check for updates and prompt you to install any available updates if necessary.

Update Zoom:

  • If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install it (Note: The available version may be higher than 5.13.5).

Restart Zoom:

  • After updating, restart the Zoom application to apply the changes.
