As mentioned in previous newsletters, Information Technology Services (ITS) has been transitioning Pace systems to the new Duo Universal Prompt for MultiFactor Authentication (MFA). We are pleased to announce that all main Pace systems are now using the Universal Prompt (pictured to the right).

The Universal Prompt has replaced the older Traditional Prompt and offers a streamlined interface design with enhanced security features, including:

  • The target application’s login screen now displays the application name above the username field.
  • The Universal Prompt momentarily redirects to a duosecurity.com page to complete the verification, and then redirects back to the Pace application.
  • Users with other enrolled devices can click the “Other options” link to select their preferred device for authentication.
  • Users will see a confirmation request to “Trust this browser?”. If you check ‘Yes,’ you won’t need to enter a Duo passcode for a predetermined number of days when logging back into the system using the same device and browser. We recommend selecting ‘No’ to this question when using a shared or public device.
