We want to inform you of two changes that are being implemented for the Qualtrics survey tool.

New Duo Multifactor Authentication (MFA) Requirement:

Beginning Thursday, April 11 (after-hours), Qualtrics will be added to the list of systems that are protected by Duo MFA. Therefore, users who log in to Qualtrics (pace.qualtrics.com) will also be prompted to provide a Duo MFA passcode to complete authentication. It is our top priority to review Pace systems regularly and identify ways to further strengthen our security protocols. Based on these assessments, Duo MFA may need to be enabled for additional systems.

Updated Email Settings for Distributing Surveys:

In order to meet new bulk email distribution requirements and prevent emailed surveys from getting caught up in spam filters, the previous default (non-Pace) email account listed in the From Address field for Qualtrics surveys has been replaced with a new default Pace email account and sub-domain. All new Qualtrics surveys now display “noreply@mail.pace.edu” in the From Address field.

This new default account has been configured to allow sending of bulk emails and meets the updated requirements. When paired with another @pace.edu account in the Reply-To Email field, it should help prevent any potential spam filtering issues. To learn more about this change and how to use email accounts when distributing departmental or individual surveys, please review the Qualtrics Surveys: Updated Email Settings for Distribution knowledge base article.

Qualtrics is managed by the Office of Planning, Assessment, and Institutional Research (OPAIR). For additional information and training resources, please visit the Survey and Qualtrics Resources page.
